How new marketing skills can facilitate growth

Our recruiters started working with this fast-growing fashion brand in the summer of 2024. The business had just hired a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to continue their growth journey.

The COO wanted to explore how different marketing skill sets could support further growth. Ultimately, our team of consultants supported them in identifying the need for a Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer.

How new marketing skills can facilitate growth

The story of this fast-growth fashion brand

Founded in 2005, this pioneering streetwear brand emerged from the heart of London's creative scene. With bold designs, it has become a defining name in contemporary fashion.

Having brought on a new COO to lead their next stage of growth, the brand took this opportunity to assess their successes and learnings. They identified marketing as an area of opportunity but needed support from a recruitment consultant to understand the different skills available to them. That's where Director, Michael Judkins, came in.

Challenge: Exploring different digital and marketing skill sets

Michael met the COO to understand the brand, their challenges and vision for the future. In return, he was able to offer insight into the current state of the recruitment market.

Together, they agreed that the brand needed to hire a new Marketing Manager and a Graphic Designer. From there, they decided upon the right candidate profile for each role. Both had specific criteria that required detailed searches for. As a growing brand with an entrepreneurial spirit, it was important that we were able to screen against these criteria and find candidates with experience within the same sector.

Solution: A thorough search led by expert recruiters

Michael ensured that each search was handled by experts in retail marketing (Victoria Stokes) and digital design recruitment (Yasmin Vachet). To identify excellent candidates, the team mapped the market of relevant brands and worked through their networks of marketers and designers.

In their weekly catch-up calls, Yasmin and Victoria presented their findings, feedback from the market and interested candidates. This was also an excellent opportunity for the internal hiring team to give their feedback on candidates and interviews.

When delays occurred due to holidays and limited availability, our recruiters maintained consistent communication with candidates in process. This ensured that all parties involved were always clear on progress.

Result: Excellent hires for this fashion brand

Thanks to our recruiters' management of this recruitment process, the client was able to hire the preferred candidate for each role. These individuals are going to supprt the brand in their journey. We look forward to supporting their further growth in digital marketing.
